Maame Yaa

My children and I used to sleep on the floor in an uncompleted building at Ejisu-Krapa, Ghana, West-Africa. First Ladies of Africa (FLOA) donated sleeping mattresses, pillows, and bed sheets for myself and my children as well. Thanks to FLOA and the donors, we now have sleeping mattresses to sleep on at night. Also, not only they provided us with mattresses, they also provided us with groceries to last few months, cash and bags of charcoal to start my own business so I can support myself and the children.  "My life is complete now".

I'm a mother of 3 and recently gave birth to a baby boy. Due to my financial hardship, I was unable to pay for my maternity bill, so I was held at the hospital for several days until First Ladies of Africa came to my rescue. After they paid my maternity bill, they also provided me some money to start a small business. Now, I can go home with my baby to spend Christmas and to start a business. Thanks to FLOA and the donors for helping my family.

I'm an 18yrs old orphan. I was impregnated by a man that promised to care for me, but once I got pregnant, the man was nowhere to be found. After giving birth, I didn't have any money to pay for my maternity bill, so I was held at the hospital till payment was made. FLOA came to my rescue, they paid my bill and gave me money to care for myself and the baby. Thanks to FLOA and the kind donors, may God bless you all. My goal is to go back to school and become a lawyer in the future.

Matilda

I'm a single mother of 6 children. Since my husband left us, it has been really hard. I used to sell mashed plantain in the market, but due to insufficient capital, I had to let go of the trade. I started selling ice water as that's what I can afford. My children and I lives in one bedroom, I share one foam with some of my children while others sleep on a mat.

Then, First Ladies of Africa Organization came to my rescue. They gave me a lump sum of money as business capital, mattresses and groceries. Thanks to this organization and all it's donors. Now, I can start selling nonperishable groceries in the market. I can say moving forward, I should be able to cater to my family.

Thanks to the First Ladies of Africa Organization for coming to my newborn's aid and myself. After giving birth, my baby needed serious medical attention, but I didn't have the money. A nurse connected me with this organization and hours later, help was already underway. Not only they paid for our medical bills, but they also paid for a year of health insurance for my baby and gave me money to cater to my baby. I've been in a lot of tears as I wasn't expecting this help. May God bless the donors and the organization".

This year, we didn't want to leave some single mothers and their children to go hungry for Christmas, so we did what we do best to bring joy and happiness to some families. We went to two villages in Ghana, Yaw Bronya and Yawasarfo.  We also went to the streets and gave out drinks and snacks to some children. Thanks, to all the donors that made this possible.
